Finally I could afford the ICON AUTOMATIC on sale and with a good exchange rate, it was time to make a catch. In one word: I-love-it. It is everything that I expected and then some. Heavy, masculine, dominant, minimalistic, mature, no BS, and massive describe it best. And that is a modest rating. Blast and EMP-safe, in case the "Ivan" changes his mind. The sapphire glass is tripple anti-reflection coated and almost invisible. By comparison, after ten years of heavy use the MX10 the same glass has no(!) scratches and still "invisible". I expect the same from the ICON. The same is true for the PVD coating. After ten years the MX10 and bracelet shows "some" wear, but it makes it even more attractive, like blued-steel. A watch to watch. The display design resembles that of aeronautic devices, easy to grasp, which is exactly my kind. Some call the date-display "drunken", I call it unusual. Illumination, even if it is only the T25-type, is great, one can almost read by it at night. More would be a Chernobyl-like overkill and would drive radiation-safety officers insane. The crown is screwed to the whatever you call it and robust as the rest. I expect the same degree of robustness as from the MX10 which served me for 10 years now. The MX10 illumination is down by almost one half-life, and the tritium light is still excellent. I noted the difference only by comparison to the new ICON. I am sure it will serve my grandchildren well in 24 and then 48 years. During the first week I own the ICON now, the mechanics lost (to me "only") 8 seconds, as expected and typical (?) for a mechanical watch. However, I noticed the gain and loss depends on the winding state. I need to keep it better wound and will need a watch-mover for the night or the weekend. For comparison, in the same period, my quartz driven MX10 gained 4 seconds. There is only one thing to whine about: the matte, black PVD coating is a bit cheap, as the elements of the bracelet are not fully coated in places deep between the elements. I only notice it when adjusting the bracelet, so I don't care. My new baby gets full five stars, hands down (pun intended).

Terrific timepiece! Can’t fault it in any way. Design, build, materials, and most importantly, timekeeping, are all superb. Buy with confidence & enjoy!

A smart yet robust watch with a very clear, easy to read face which was one of my requirements.

As a watch connoisseur who already owns a Rolex, Raymond Well, Ball and other quality brands I can confirm that the quality of this watch is excellent and offers superb value for money. The mechanical movement keeps excellent time (on a par with my Rolex) and the build quality and finish are first class. Cannot recommend this watch too highly.

I like the appearance of the watch and am enjoying it. Currently it seems to be loosing 2-3 seconds a day when I check it against atomic time. I am waiting to see how it performs over a month or so, or I would have given it a 4 or 5.

Not quite as "slim-line" as I thought it would be, but it will certainly stand out in the crowd.

Initially a little disappointed in that watch lost 17 seconds per day (outside spec) in first 3 days then stopped after only 5 hours off my wrist. But since then has worked perfectly for 3 weeks, keeping time well within spec without stopping again. Appears that short "running in" period may have been needed to achieve optimum performance. Quite a large chunky watch but comfortable to wear, very clear dial with night time visibility just as good as suggested by the adverts.

A comfortable fit. The automatic movement keeps excellent time. The tritium powered dial looks very clear in the dark.
