In 2016 Julia’s House will receive just 5% of their total annual funding from the government, making them one of the least-funded hospices in the UK. They rely on public fundraising and donations for 95 per cent of what they need to raise each year. No parent expects to live longer than their children, but for many of the families Julia’s House support, this is the reality. Their time together is precious and Nite Watches are proud to support the fantastic care Julia’s House provides for these families.
The aim of Julia’s House is to maximise and enrich the quality of life for children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. The nurses and carers offer regular respite sessions at their hospice in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, and in families’ own homes. They are there year-round and in a crisis, offering emotional and practical support, emergency respite and end-of-life care.
