Is my payment secure?Back to top ↑
Our nominated payment gateway is Pay Pal and all payments are guaranteed.
Ensuring authenticity?Back to top ↑
If you buy from Nite or an authorised Nite Watch owner, your watch purchase is guaranteed, although there is no evidence of any grey imports being available. Some second hand Nite models will appear on Ebay, as a result of owners and/or dealers disposing of trade-in watches. We include a Certificate of Authenticity with every watch purchased. All our watches are backed by our own two year warranty.
What is your returns policy?Back to top ↑
In the event of a return, we ask that this is done within the 14 day trial period and that the watch is in exactly the same condition it was dispatched in (see returns policy).

Watches shipped to trade and consumer customers and fully insured.
Can I have the back plate engraved?Back to top ↑
We recommend that the back plate is not engraved in situ, but rather carried out separately by us and fitted once complete.
Registering your watch online?Back to top ↑
Once you have purchased your watch, please register it online in order that your warranty can be confirmed. If you do not have email, this will be done by post. Registering your watch will also allow you to interact with other nite watch owners within Unite, our owner community. Many will be active people with stories to tell and we encourage owners to make themselves known accordingly. As a Unite member you will receive information, new product news and other invitations to events and launches; especially those where nite watch owners are involved.
How do I clean my watch?Back to top ↑
We recommend that watches are cleaned using a soft tooth brush and soapy water in the event they are caked in mud or dust.
Is it accurate?Back to top ↑
Nite timepieces keep very good time, losing or gaining a few seconds monthly.
How do I look after my watch?Back to top ↑
Never attempt to open the watch yourself. To keep your watch running smoothly and keep it clean, just use soap and water. The sapphire crystal is triple coated and should remain clear and unmarked, while the case, bracelet or straps are subject to marking in adverse circumstances. If your battery runs out, that's probably a good time to send us your watch and allow us to give it a service while replacing the battery.
What is pressure testing?Back to top ↑
All Nite watches are pressure tested so that the true underwater characteristics are proven and maintained.
Can I trade-in my watch?Back to top ↑
You can if you wish trade in your old Nite watch for a new one and receive a substantial allowance for your old model; we always have a market for second hand watches and would be only too pleased to do this.
What are the key features?Back to top ↑
A combination of features make nite watches what they are; reliable, durable and highly visible, regardless of lighting conditions. Every detail is considered in the design and manufacturing process and every component performs a very specific function, from the clarity afforded by the GTLS illumination and sapphire crystals to the solid stainless steel cases, screw-down back-plates to the simple but effective over-locking straps and Swiss made movements.

What is a watch-case?Back to top ↑
The watch-case is the metal housing that contains the internal parts of a watch. The cases are manufactured from the highest quality stainless steel and to exacting standards.
What is a back plate?Back to top ↑
The back plates are also made from stainless steel and screw into position, aiding water resistance and durability.
What is a crown?Back to top ↑
The nodule extending from the watch-case that is used to set the time, date, etc. is called the crown. Most pull out to set the time and those that screw out and down have 'O' rings for a better water-tight seal.
What is a bezel?Back to top ↑
The surface ring on a watch that surrounds and holds the crystal in place is called the bezel. A rotating ratchet bezel moves in some sport watches as part of the timing device. If rotating bezels are bi-directional (able to move clockwise or counter clockwise), they can assist in calculations for elapsed times.
What is a dial?Back to top ↑
The watch face that contains the numerals, indices or surface design is called the dial. While these parts are usually applied, some are printed. Sub-dials are smaller dials-set in the main face of the watch. These can be used for added functions, such as elapsed times and dates. Dials differ from model to model in size, specification and colour.
What is a crystal?Back to top ↑
The glass cover over the watch face is called the crystal. There are three types of crystals commonly found in watches: acrylic crystal is an inexpensive plastic that allows shallow scratches to be buffed out. Mineral crystal is composed of several elements that are heat-treated to create an unusual hardness that aids in resisting scratches. Sapphire crystal is the most expensive and durable, approximately three times harder than mineral crystals and 20 times harder than acrylic crystals. A non-reflective coating on some sport styles prevents glare. Nite watches are highly specified and use the latter.
What is GTLS illumination technology?Back to top ↑
All Nite watches feature a rare illumination technology called GTLS (Gaseous Tritium Light Source). This highly specialised technology was, until recently only ever used in advanced military hardware or pioneering safety equipment where a guaranteed light source was needed for safe operations in all hazardous environments and conditions. Electrons emitted from the tritium gas excite the phosphor coating inside each GTLS lamp to produce a continuous light that will typically last between 10 and 20 years.
Does the illumination change colours or brightness?Back to top ↑
GTLS lamps come in different colours and green and orange are the brightest, at least to the human eye. Blue is less bright than green or orange and red is weaker still. Consequently, Nite uses predominantly orange lights at midday/midnight and either green or blue to denote the hours of the day. The hour, minute and second hands also have lights fitted to aid reading ability.
What is a quartz crystal watch?Back to top ↑
Quartz watches work with a series of electronic components, rather than a wound spring, relying on a battery for its energy. The battery sends electrical energy to a rotor to produce an electrical current that passes through a magnetic coil to a quartz crystal which vibrates at a very high frequency (32,768 times a second), providing highly accurate timekeeping. These impulses are passed through a stepping motor that turns the electrical energy into the mechanical energy needed to turn the gear train. The gear train turns the motion work, which actually moves the hands on the watch dial.
Do you offer a disposal and after sales service?Back to top ↑

Is the watch approved by the military?Back to top ↑
The technology used to illuminate the dial, numerals and hands of the watch are of military quality and subject to NATO approval and will be accompanied by a NATO stock number.
Is there raditation saftey?Back to top ↑
On average, we are all exposed to natural radiation sources from both space and our surroundings to about 2.4Sv a year, depending on geographic location. As a wearer of nite watches, you are exposed to zero radiation, but in the unlikely event of the watch being destroyed and vials simultaneously broken, the wearer would be exposed to radiation some 30,000 times lower than the average described above.
Who makes the movement?Back to top ↑
Nite specify one of the world's leading Swiss based watch movement manufacturers, Ronda, whose standard and chronograph products are exacting and precise.
Can I choose a metal bracelet?Back to top ↑
The metal bracelets used are integral to the watch design and unique to Nite with double locking clasp and fully adjustable. Links can be inserted or removed by any quality jeweller and the parts required for this obtain from Nite on a complimentary basis.
Can I choose a rubber strap?Back to top ↑
The metal bracelets used are integral to the watch design and unique to Nite with double locking clasp and fully adjustable. Links can be inserted or removed by any quality jeweller and the parts required for this obtain from Nite on a complimentary basis.
How do I change the date on my watch?Back to top ↑
There is a trick to ensuring your watch always displays the correct date; first, unscrew the crown fully and turn clockwise to move the date to the day before the actual date. Then push the crown one step back into the watch case and turn it to 'fast forward' the time past midnight so that the date function alters at that time and keep turning until you reach the correct time. Then push the crown back in and screw in as required (on some models).
Water resistanceBack to top ↑
No watch is entirely waterproof and those without any indication of a safe depth marked on the dial should not be submerged at all. All Nite watches are resistant to depths of between 100m and 200m. Push in screw in crowns and O Ring seals aid this feature (see push-in crowns).
Push-in crown, back plate and 'O' ring sealsBack to top ↑
There are a variety of ways to make a watch water resistant. All such watches use rubber gaskets or 'O' rings to seal the case back. A watch with a back that screws onto the case provides a higher degree of water resistance. Some crowns (the "winding stem") actually screw into the case to further increase water resistance.
Quartz watchesBack to top ↑
Quartz watches work with a series of electronic components, all fitting together in a tiny space. Rather than a spring, a quartz watch relies on a battery for its energy. The battery sends electrical energy to a quartz crystal, which vibrates at an incredibly high frequency (32,768 times a second), providing highly accurate timekeeping. This energy is then transmitted via a stepping motor, which transforms the electrical impulses into mechanical power, turning the gear train, which moves the hands on the watch face.
What is the battery life expectancy?Back to top ↑
Generally, the battery in a quartz watch will need to be replaced every 4 years, although some of our watches have highly specified batteries lasting up to 10 years, however, if you own a chronograph and keep this function operating permanently, it will half the lifetime of the battery.
Is there a warranty cover?Back to top ↑
The Nite Watches international Warranty covers material and manufacturing defects and we guarantee to repair or replace (with the same specification or superior model if a direct replacement is unavailable) a customer's watch upon receipt of a submission and when accompanied with a valid warranty card or customer number.
Are there any warranty limitations?Back to top ↑
Our international Warranty covers material and manufacturing defects, not damage incurred through 'wear and tear' or ageing. It is the owner's responsibility to register their purchase online, completing the form entirely, including the date of the purchase, from which date the two year warranty begins. The warranty does not include the sapphire glass, strap, bracelet or damage to the movement caused by handling errors or through tampering.
What to do if I have a warranty claim?Back to top ↑
All watches that are in need of repair or servicing should be sent to our repair facilities at the address below. When you return your watch to us for service or repair your watch will undergo a thorough service routine.
